Two Budget Committee Hearings are scheduled in June:

Board of Supervisor Budget Committee Hearings
Recreation and Park Department
Arboretum Fees agenda item

Hearings are held in the Board Chamber, Room 250, City Hall, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Wed. - June 17 - First Hearing
Wed. - June 24 - Final Hearing

The supervisors are very responsive to public opinion, and some have already expressed support. Now is the time to let them know of the mass of public opposition to ANY entrance fee to the Garden.

Please call, email and/or write the five supervisors on the Budget and Finance Committee, and urge them to oppose any fees, and any limitation of public access. WE NEED TO COMPLETELY OPPOSE ANY SOLUTION THAT INVOLVES THE INSTALLATION OF GATES AND TICKET KIOSKS. If infrastructure is built, it will inevitably lead to the eventual imposition of fees.

We also need concerned individuals to speak in support of a free arboretum at the hearings. If you'd like to speak at one of the hearings, please use the Get Involved form to contact us.
